Prof. A. M. Kodiya (President, Otorhinolaryngological Society of Nigeria, 2024 – 2026)
Prof. Aliyu Mohammed Kodiya (MBBS, FMCORL, FWACS, FICS, FCAI, MPA, PGDE) is a distinguished professor in the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgery at the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. With over 50 peer-reviewed publications in both international and national journals, he is a leading figure in Otorhinolaryngology. Prof. Kodiya has trained numerous specialists in ENT and has been actively involved in the education of medical patrons.
A former Head of the Department of ENT Surgery, he has held several key administrative roles, including serving as Chairman of various committees and boards at the National Ear Care Centre and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. His contributions extend beyond academia to healthcare policy, having participated in national initiatives for ear and hearing care.
Prof. Kodiya is a reviewer for multiple prestigious journals and a recipient of numerous awards, including the Nigerian Humanitarian Icon Award. His professional affiliations include the Otorhinolaryngological Society of Nigeria, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, and the International Society of Surgeons.
He is a fellow of the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria, West African College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeon.
